Legacy AIR1 Update: Chinook Aircraft Kit Progress and Future Plans

First and foremost, we want to express our sincere gratitude for your patience and understanding during this time of transition. As the new owners of the company, previously known as Aeroplane Manufactory, we have been working diligently to ensure a smooth and successful relaunch of the Chinook kit production and sales. We recognize that some of you have been waiting for up to 8 months, and we deeply appreciate your continued interest and support.

WHAT WE'VE ACCOMPLISHED

Since taking over the company, we have made significant progress in setting up our new manufacturing facility in Plainview, Texas. All of the necessary equipment, tools, and existing inventory have been moved to our two hangars, and we have nearly completed the process of organizing, inventorying, and labeling everything.

While we have been making great strides, we also understand that producing a high-quality aircraft kit takes time. When the Couch family purchased the rights to the Chinook in 2013, it took them nearly three years to deliver their first aircraft. We are pleased to report that we are ahead of that schedule, but we also want to ensure that we deliver a product that meets our high standards and exceeds your expectations.

WHAT WE'RE WORKING ON

To that end, we embarked on our own build process to identify any challenges or frustrations that may arise during construction. This hands-on approach has allowed our talented staff to develop ideas for improvements and upgrades, which we are incorporating into the next iteration of the Chinook. We are also working hard to negotiate pricing with our third-party vendors to ensure that we can begin production of new kits and upgrades as soon as we can.

COMING UP NEXT...

Before we begin production, we will be resetting and calibrating our jigs and machines, constructing new files for our CNC manufacturing machines, and producing an upgraded documentation library complete with illustrations, pictures, and instructions. Our goal is to provide you with the most user-friendly and advanced kit possible.

We understand that the wait has been long, and some of you may be feeling frustrated. Please know that we are doing everything in our power to get the Chinook kit into your hands as quickly as possible, without compromising on quality. We value your loyalty and are committed to fulfilling your aircraft needs when production relaunches later this year.

In the meantime, please keep an eye on your email inbox for updates along the way. We will be addressing some of the most popular questions we've received and providing you with regular progress reports.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding. We are excited about the future of the Chinook and look forward to serving you as a valued customer of Legacy AIR 1.

Blue skies,

Noel Giger
